The theoretical basis of Energy Medicine methods such as Sun Kyeong is that the flow and balance of the body’s electromagnetic and more subtle energies are important for physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health, and for fostering well-being. The Organization offers individual Qi Sessions, group Qi Classes, and an Ancestor Healing Course. Specifically, Sun Kyeong is designed to reconnect individuals to themselves, nature, and the Universe by tuning into the vibration of life Qi. Qi Sessions and Qi Classes include a unique combination of acupressure and sound designed to recharge the entire body and open all of the energy channels to support overall physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. The Ancestor Healing Course is designed to heal inherited energy patterns. The premise of the practice of Sun Kyeong is that over time it can lead to understanding the laws of nature and guide individuals to greater levels of health, happiness, and spiritual connection.
Although Sun Kyeong appears to have promising physical, emotional, mental and spiritual benefits, it is considered outside traditional Western approaches to heatlh and wellness and has yet to be fully researched by the Western academic, medical, and psychological communities. Therefore, Sun Kyeong is considered experimental and the extent of its effectiveness, as well as its risks and benefits, are not fully known. The practice of Sun Kyeong , including Qi Sessions, Qi Classes, and the Ancestor Healing Course is self-regulated and no state in the United States licenses Sun Kyeong practitioners/teachers and considers it to be an alternative or complementary approach to health and wellness. Specifically, for the Organization’s California center the services offered by Sun Kyeong practitioners/teachers are not licensed by the State of California. Under Sections 2053.5 and 2053.6 of California’s Business and Professions Code, the Organization they can offer their services as Alternative Healing Arts Practitioners, subject to the requirements and restrictions that are described fully therein.
